Frequently Asked Questions

What does Loka mean?

Rumor has it that many years ago, the founder of the company was looking for a new name for a company. It needed to be a short name, easy to pronounce and spell. There weren't a lot around! His wife recommended Loka, which has some interesting meanings. Thus the company was named Loka!

What is An Ideal Budget to Start With?

While $500 is the minimum ad spend you'll need to get started, we suggest a start-up budget of $1,000 in order to give yourself the best chance of success out the gate.

How Exactly Does Google AdWords Work?

Let's say you own a law firm. A prospective customer turns to Google to do some research. They enter the keyword query "new york small business attorney." Your goal is to target local search engine traffic. You don't want to appear when someone is searching in Denver, just New York.

Presumably there would be advertisers for that term already. Let's just assume the top bid was $0.50. To appear higher in the paid advertising results you'd need to bid at least $0.51. Each time a prospective customer clicks on an ad, the advertiser is charged the corresponding click fee by Google. In this case you'd pay $0.51.

Managing a successful AdWords campaign is quite a bit more complicated. Targeting certain keywords, maintaining daily budgets, increasing your quality score or optimizing your site for conversions can be tedious and time consuming. But that's what we're here for! You worry about turning prospects into customers, and we'll worry about sending lots of prospects your way.

What are Clicks Versus Conversions?

Clicks occur when a searcher clicks on your paid ad. Conversions are a critical performance metric that measures when your visitor transforms into a customer. This occurs after they've given you their contact information or credit card and is usually followed by a success page.

What Are The Costs of using Google AdWords Advertising?

Click costs will vary by keyword, match type and even quality score. Traditionally, we set a maximum bid you are willing to pay for a keyword. Actual CPC (cost-per-click) can be as little as $0.25 and can reach up to $50 or more. We work with you to tailor the choice of keywords and budgets based on your business goals. We'll create a bidding plan to target the most qualified clicks while generating the most traffic.

Our objective is to uncover the most relevant keywords for your products and services. When Google agrees with our choices (a function of ad rank, quality score, bid, landing page, etc) they give you a discount, allowing you to pay less than your competitors while getting 20-30% more traffic.

Can Google AdWords Really Work for My Business?

For most businesses AdWords will successfully drive traffic to your site. Whether you're offering a service or a product we'll work with you to determine how your company can best use the service. If you're aiming to reach more consumers locally or you're trying to generate leads for a national company, AdWords can be an effective strategy to target the right consumers at just the right time - when they're ready to buy.

Why Would Google AdWords Advertising Be a Better Starting Point for My Marketing Campaign vs. TV, Radio or Print?

Compared to other forms of advertising, with Google AdWords, there's essentially ZERO cost (yes, that's right, FREE) until a prospective customer clicks on your ad. With AdWords, you can control how much you spend each day, easily adjust your costs over time, and the return on your ad spending is easier to track than other media. Almost instantaneously, you can find out which keywords, which ads, and even what parts of the country produce the most sales and you can allocate funds accordingly.

What Do You Do When You First Start Managing My Campaign?

If you're a first time user of AdWords, we'll start from scratch. We've done that many times, and can do it quickly and effectively. If you have had some experience already, we'll evaluate what has worked and what hasn't. We'll ask you key questions about your business, your goals, your customers and we'll discuss how you'll follow-up with leads to maximize sales and profits. In addition to a business analysis, we'll conduct a competitive analysis in order to determine how we can help your company outperform the competition.

Next, we'll begin compiling a short list of keywords to test. Over the course of 3-4 weeks we test and retest these keywords to see what is best resonating with your customers and leading to sales or leads. We slash the keywords that aren't performing, and repeat this process for the first 8 to 12 weeks. Once we see that your ad campaigns are consistently succeeding we will look to expand our keyword list, and online advertising sources to increase the number of clicks and sales you'll receive.

What Will You Do For My AdWords Campaigns Each Month?

Optimizing your campaign each month is how we achieve sustainable and long term success for you. Split tests are performed on ads and keywords in your account and bids are optimized and adjusted accordingly. Non-performing keywords are deleted after collecting data and negative keyword research is always on-going. We'll keep you updated via reports.

How Long Does it Take to See Results?

Timelines vary by budget, business and location, to name a few factors. But, as a general guideline, you'll be able to expect increased traffic within the first week. We'll begin slowly testing for conversions across a broad set of keywords and by weeks 2-3 we'll be able converge on a list that's working. From there, we continue to iterate, constantly working to increase profits from your site and business.
